In absence of the larger
we make much of the small
and so we should
for beauty is around us always
ministering to our hearts
When the larger comes
we drink up vast supplies
against the drought
that ever lurks
drink deeply then my soul
until your heart
exhausted
falls
and worships him
who made eyes
that gladly light
in amazed wonder
at the brilliance of this
wild, untamed color
